Find-Home is a real-estate rental marketplace operated by Innovation Cameroon, a technology company headquartered in Cameroon. We connect tenants looking for properties with landlords and verified field agents.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

a) Account Information

• Full name, email address, and phone number provided during registration;
• Date of birth (for age verification);
• Account type (tenant, landlord, or agent);
• Profile photo (optional).

b) Identity Verification (KYC)

• Government-issued identity document (front and back);
• Selfie or photo holding your identity document;
• This information is collected solely for fraud prevention and legal compliance.

c) Property and Listing Information

• Property address, description, photos, videos, and audio tours uploaded by landlords;
• Property geolocation coordinates.

d) Transaction and Payment Information

• Mobile money phone number used for payment processing (via CamPay);
• Transaction identifiers and booking references;
• We do not store full payment card or mobile money account credentials on our servers.

e) Location Information

• When you use location-based features (e.g., property search, agent geo-verification), we may collect your device's GPS coordinates with your explicit permission.

f) Communications

• Messages sent through the in-app chat between tenants, landlords, and agents;
• Support requests and correspondence with our team.

g) Usage and Device Data

• Device type, operating system, and app version;
• IP address and general geographic region;
• Pages viewed, features used, and interactions within the app (via anonymized analytics);
• Push notification tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

• Create and manage your account;
• Verify your identity and prevent fraudulent activity;
• Match tenants with properties and facilitate bookings;
• Process payments and manage commission settlements;
• Display property listings and enable in-app communication;
• Send transactional notifications (booking confirmations, payment receipts, messages);
• Send service-related announcements and important policy updates;
• Improve the platform through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics;
• Comply with our legal obligations under Cameroonian law.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for automated decision-making without human oversight.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

• Contract: Processing necessary to perform the services you requested (account, bookings, payments);
• Legal obligation: Processing required to comply with Cameroonian law and regulatory requirements;
• Consent: For optional features such as location access, marketing messages, or analytics — you may withdraw consent at any time via the app settings;
• Legitimate interest: For fraud prevention, security, and improving our platform.

5. Sharing of Information

We may share your information with:

• Verified agents and landlords — only the information necessary to facilitate a booking or property verification (e.g., your contact details once a booking is confirmed);
• Payment processors — CamPay receives the mobile money number and transaction amount required to process payments;
• Infrastructure providers — Supabase (database and authentication), Firebase (push notifications), and Cloudflare (hosting and CDN), all acting as data processors under appropriate data processing agreements;
• Law enforcement or regulators — when required to do so by applicable law, court order, or governmental authority;
• Successors in interest — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to you.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law:

• Account data is retained for the lifetime of your account and for 3 years after deletion;
• KYC documents are retained for 5 years after account closure to comply with anti-fraud and regulatory obligations;
• Transaction records are retained for 7 years for financial and tax compliance;
• Chat messages are retained for 2 years from the date of the conversation;
• Analytics data is anonymized and may be retained indefinitely.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
• Erasure: Request deletion of your account and personal data (subject to legal retention obligations). You can initiate this from Profile → Security → Delete Account or by visiting our data deletion page;
• Portability: Request your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format;
• Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests;
• Withdraw consent: Withdraw consent for optional processing at any time via the app settings.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our web platform uses cookies and similar technologies to operate correctly and improve your experience. Types of cookies we use:

• Essential cookies: Required for authentication and platform functionality. Cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies: Anonymized data about how visitors use the platform, used to improve the service. You may opt out via your browser settings.
• Preference cookies: Remember your language and theme preferences.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent some features from working correctly.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data, including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest for sensitive data;
• Row-level security (RLS) policies to ensure users can only access their own data;
• Role-based access controls limiting internal access to personal data;
• Regular security reviews and dependency updates.

Despite these measures, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and relevant authorities in the event of a data breach as required by law.

10. Children's Privacy

Find-Home is not intended for persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately. 11. Third-Party Links and Services

Our platform may contain links to external websites or services (e.g., Google Maps, WhatsApp). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.

12. International Data Transfers

Our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Firebase) may process data on servers located outside Cameroon. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, including contractual protections, to protect your data when it is transferred internationally.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification. Your continued use of Find-Home after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
